I dread the light of day
but love the sweetness of morn.
I embrace the stillness of night
but fear the loneliness of dark.
I love a new design
and swear by what I sign.
I love the pollen grain:
Now here, now gone: in vain.
I wish the earth were flat,
So I could push off a few, a brat.
I wish I could fly:
and smile without a why.
I wish that I could love,
with heart as pure as dove.
I wish that I could cry,
not just for what is my.
I wish that time stood still,
until I had my fill.
I wish a lot of wish,
Yet, all I am is another fish.

ReplyDeleteThe end reminded me of these lines from Lost by Coldplay -
Just because you're a big fish,
In a lake or pond...
Doesn't mean you've won,
Cuz along may come,
A bigger one...
And you'll be lost!
